AromaTouch® Technique using doTERRA Essential Oils
doTERRA has developed an essential oil application technique called the AromaTouch® Technique. This clinical approach to essential oil application is a gentle, yet powerful way for everyone to experience the beneficial qualities of doTERRA CPTG® essential oils.
How can AromaTouch® be useful to me?
This therapy holistically addresses the needs of the body with gentle and non-invasive techniques, creating overall systemic benefits.
8 specific doTERRA essential oils are used in four pairings. There are more details about the essential oils used below. In brief, these oils are used to:
- Restore balance, tranquillity and homeostasis to the body
- Stimulate the immune response
- Reduce the inflammatory response
- Reduce toxicity in the body
What can I expect from an AromaTouch® session?
The treatment lasts approximately 45 minutes. You will be face down on the treatment couch, having removed foot-wear and all clothing from the waist up. A light touch will be used to apply oils one at a time, predominantly on your back but also moving to your head, ears and feet.
After the session you will feel deeply relaxed. You may feel more grounded, rested or calm for some days after.
Which oils are used and what are their benefits?
A warm, woody and earthy aroma. We all experience moments of disconnectedness or elevated levels of anxiety. This superb blend, with its warm, woody aroma, creates a sense of well-being through its calming action on the central nervous system by promoting a feeling of tranquility and creating a sense of balance in multiple body systems.
This remarkable plant has been cherished for its unmistakable aroma and its treasured medicinal properties for thousands of years. Many studies have concluded that lavender essential oil is effective for use as a calming agent, mood modulator and works well to relieve anxiety. It is used in the AromaTouch® Technique to promote relaxation, to soothe body systems and to relieve stress.
Melaleuca (Tea Tree)
With more than 90 different compounds combining to create a synergistic masterpiece, tea tree oil is nothing short of miraculous in its effect. It is often used to relieve infections and is revered for its cleansing properties. In the AromaTouch® Technique it is used to support the immune system.
On Guard Blend
A rich, sweet and spicy aroma, On Guard’s cleansing properties are important to the immune support step of the AromaTouch® Technique. The combined power of the oils (wild orange, clove, cinnamon, eucalyptus and rosemary) makes it useful in supporting the body’s immune response to invasive pathogens.
Mildly invigorating with relaxing qualities. Many individuals suffer from both chronic and acute discomfort. AromaTouch is a powerful blend of CPTG essential oils (cypress, marjoram, basil, grapefruit) designed to soothe tissue irritation and elevate circulation in order to manage discomfort. Improved circulation promotes health in damaged tissues whilst helping to diminish muscle ache, tension and spasm.
Deep Blue Blend
An invigorating and powerful scent. Deep Blue contains a potent blend of essential oils (wintergreen, camphor, blue tansy, blue chamomile, helichrysum, osmanthus) that provides cooling relief to aching joints and other discomforts in the body. Inflammation, as a chronic immune system response, has been shown to cause disease and lowered immunity. Chronic inflammation can also act as a major body system stressor. Deep Blue essential oil blend is effective at supporting healthy inflammatory responses in the body.
Citrus oils possess remarkable system-protecting characteristics, including immune-supporting and anti-oxidising properties. Wild Orange essential oil enhances and elevates mood whilst modulating stress related anxiety. It is also a direct inhibitor of many types of unwanted germs and pathogens in the body.
There are more than 30 different compounds in pure peppermint oil, creating a synergistic masterpiece of biological activity. This complexity is what gives peppermint the ability to act on the physical and mental systems in the body. Its refreshing and soothing qualities make it effective in balancing the body and addressing systemic stressors.
More about AromaTouch® Technique
The AromaTouch® Technique was developed by Dr David K Hill, a leading expert on the use of essential oils for medicinal benefit. As a physician and while working with the public in various capacities, Dr Hill frequently heard many individuals express both passion for the oils and uncertainty as to how to use them to achieve the maximum health benefits. In response, Dr Hill has developed a systematic way for the oils to be applied to receive an expected, beneficial result.
To develop the technique Dr Hill drew on his training as a physician, his experience using essential oils with patients and for personal care, and his understanding of essential oil science. The technique was created to address four systemic constants: stress, toxic insult, inflammatory response and autonomic imbalance. Recognising that there are common factors at the foundation of illness in the body, the AromaTouch® Technique was developed to manage these systemic constants and return the body to a state of balance.
Because essential oils contain many different healing properties, each oil used in the AromaTouch® Technique has been selected specifically for its individual therapeutic benefit and aroma. This method complements CPTG® oils and further enhances their impact. The technique addresses common negative factors that influence health and helps the body return to a state of homeostasis via a four-step process centered on CPTG® oils and simple hand techniques. AromaTouch® enhances essential oil activity and stimulates meridian pathways and energy zones whilst balancing body systems and function.
